Mikael Pernfors is a distinguished competitor in both tennis and pickleball, achieving remarkable success across two sports.

In tennis, Mikael was a two-time NCAA Singles Champion at the University of Georgia (1984-85) and reached the French Open Singles Final in 1986. On the ATP Tour, he secured three singles titles (Los Angeles and Scottsdale in 1988, and the Canadian Open in 1993) and one doubles title (US Clay Courts in 1989 with Tobias Svantesson). Mikael achieved career-high rankings of ATP World No. 10 in singles and No. 32 in doubles and was honored as the ATP Most Improved Player in 1986 and ATP Comeback Player in 1993. He also represented Sweden on the Davis Cup team from 1986 to 1990.
In pickleball, Mikael has continued to excel, earning numerous medals at prestigious events. Highlights include gold medals in the 50+ division at the Pocahontas Invitational (2023) and the 60+ division at the Subaru Challenge (2024), both with Tobias Svantesson. He also claimed a silver medal with Ivan Lendl at the Big Love Invitational (2023) and gold in Senior Pro Doubles at the Boca Raton Masters (2025) alongside Marco Osorio.
Currently boasting a DUPR of 5.76 as of January 2025, Mikael Pernfors’ dedication, talent, and passion for sports have established him as a standout figure in both the tennis and pickleball worlds.
